A TEDxWeekend is an international gathering of TEDx organizers focused on celebrating our community and fostering deep connection and collaboration between community members.

In the past, incredible TEDxWeekends have happened in São Paulo, Singapore and Munich, Verona, and now TED has chosen Lagos, the city of culture, art, fashion and delicious food, to host this year’s edition.

TEDxWeekend Lagos will consist of 60 unforgettable hours, from Friday evening to Sunday, with city tours and adventures, workshops, and fun social hangouts. These weekends are designed to help organizers connect with each other, celebrate the TED spirit and mission, and fall in love with the place in which they are held.

TEDxLagos is thrilled to announce TEDxWeekend Lagos, happening on November 8-10, 2024. We're excited to welcome TEDx organizers from around the world to join us for a fantastic weekend.

Our Iconic Venue

The John Randle centre for Yoruba Culture and History is a fitting symbol of the multiplicity of identities in the metropolis and it is located in the Onikan area, the cultural heart of Lagos island.  The new building is inspired by traditional Yoruba architecture and craftsmanship. Centred around a 1000-square-metre exhibition gallery, it focuses on Yoruba history, using old and new media. It also acts as a community centre and a place for expressing intangible culture.

The venue is a celebration of Yoruba history, art, language and influence, commissioned by the State. It is designed to uplift the image of Lagosians, Yorubas and Nigerians, and explore their pioneers and legacies, including many stories of achievement which have not been properly examined before. TEDxers will get a private access to this iconic and cultural location that is currently not opened to the public.
