We Had An Amazing 2023 at TEDxLagos, Thank You For Being A Part of It

You know when they say ‘we came, we saw, we conquered?” Yep, that could be a perfect description of the year 2023 at TEDxLagos.

We can say that the year 2023 has been amazing in many ways. Across cities, countries and continents, and across sectors, many Lagosians, Nigerians, and Africans have been winning locally and globally.

It is the same for us at TEDxLagos; our impact has transcended cities and countries and we are super proud of the year 2023. For the first time at TEDxLagos, we rolled out three epic and impactful initiatives — a salon event, online conversations and a Magazine — in partnership with the TEDx Global Impact Network. These initiatives were focused on sharing ideas about governance from some of the most innovative and brilliant thinkers, doers and remarkable contributors!

Here’s our year in review:

TEDxLagos was a part of the TED Women’s Conference

In October, Mercy spent some time at the TEDWomen conference that took place in the United States of America. TEDWomen is a conference about the power of women to be creators and change-makers. The program of speakers, workshops, events — and daring discussions — has sparked some of TED’s most iconic moments yet.

This conference had over 200 remarkable TEDx organizers from around the world from over 45 countries in attendance.

TEDxLagos Salon

This year, we hosted TEDxLagos Salon, an intimate gathering where some of the most innovative and brilliant thinkers, doers and remarkable contributors shared ideas about governance. At the TEDxLagos Salon, we spotlit brilliant speakers and ideas on governance that will enlighten people on how to build a better nation and hosted a series of online conversations on Instagram and Twitter to share ideas on governance and learn from our community. The TEDx Salon was an intimate gathering that sparked productive discussions.

We launched TEDxLagos Times!

As part of The Momentum, we launched TEDxLagos Times –  a magazine that spotlights remarkable ideas from Lagos, Nigeria and the African continent. The first edition focused on helping our community gain a deeper understanding of governance.

Our Online Conversations

…was one for the books. We hosted a series of online conversations on Instagram and Twitter to share ideas on governance and learn from our community.
